Connecting to the server

VillageRust runs on Rust (Steam). You need a copy of Rust and a Discord account that is a member of our Discord server — the server checks your Discord membership when you join.

Quick connect

  1. 1Join our Discord server and finish the verification there — the bot links your Steam account to your Discord.
  2. 2Open the Servers page and press Connect — Steam launches Rust and joins automatically.
  3. 3If nothing happens, open Rust, press F1 and paste the console command shown below.

Kicked with “Discord verification required”?Your Steam account is not linked to a Discord member yet. Link it in Discord, wait a minute and connect again.

Common problems

  • EAC errors — verify game files in Steam (Properties → Installed files → Verify) and restart Steam.
  • “Server is full” — VIP II skips the queue at peak hours and VIP III always skips it.
  • Long loading on a fresh wipe — the first join after a wipe builds the map cache, give it a few minutes.
